Variable host immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 lead to a range of symptoms and complications. Many of these associate with elevated circulating pro-inflammatory cytokines, which cause cytokine release syndrome (CRS). To better understand the host immune response against SARS-CoV-2 and CRS, scientists use multiplex cytokine panels to measure tens of cytokines at once.
