A major limitation facing gene-edited cell therapies is the ability to assess the impact of novel gene edits on cellular function at the single cell level. Single-cell functional proteomics systems such as the IsoLight system are bridging this knowledge gap by illustrating key, correlative differences that accelerate decision making. The IsoLight system and the Polyfunctional Strength Index (PSITM) identify and characterize individual cells that secrete two or more cytokines (polyfunctional cells), and have been shown to correlate with in vivo outcomes and clinical responses in a multitude of studies. Using the IsoLight system, researchers can capture specific differences in candidates to provide the essential data needed to develop and optimize their immunotherapies.
