Drug discovery is a difficult process. It takes, on average, 10-12 years for an experimental drug to come to market. Moreover, only 1 in 1,000 drug candidates that enter preclinical testing move to human testing, with only one in ten of those drugs getting to the market. To further complicate the process, researchers with different areas of expertise must work together to generate multiple types of data. A good data management strategy is vital for making drug discovery more efficient and less costly.
