Accurate pipettes are integral to every laboratory, but pipette miscalibration errors can be difficult to notice. Pipettes should be inspected and calibrated annually by an expert. They should also be routinely checked in the interim for deviations in function. Checking your pipettes is not difficult – all it takes is a microbalance – and it can be crucial in allowing you to identify any issues before they impact your experimental results.
