An estimated 4.5 million adults in the United States were diagnosed with liver disease in 2018. The prevalence of chronic liver disease continues to grow with the increased prevalence of comorbidities. Several factors, including environment, dietary habits, comorbidities, toxins, and genetic predispositions may contribute to liver dysfunction.
