T cells are key components of the adaptive immune system. T cell receptors (TCRs) bind to antigens on the surface of other cells to initiate an immune response. Scientists do not fully understand how diverse TCRs bind to their target antigens; however, they can use single cell profiling methods to directly observe these complex cellular interactions.
