Scientists regularly perform western blots to analyze protein expression and determine the activity of signaling pathways. When researchers analyze multiple proteins from the same protein lysate, they must strip their protein membrane and reprobe it with a new antibody or run multiple protein gels. Neither option allows scientists to reliably compare expression levels. To analyze multiple proteins on a single blot, scientists have optimized fluorescent western blot technology.
